CIIT has an 'org week' event where students promote their organizations to encourage other students to join them. This time, it has a theme where we hide pixel dinosaurs in our promotional materials.
The idea of our video came from Eder Chua, the SYNTAX president by that time.
The Idea
At the start of the video, there is someone, presumably a higher life form, giving the viewers the option to either take the blue or the red marble. Taking the blue marble means the viewer is granted limitless possibilities, while taking the red marble would just allow the viewer to live a normal life.
The character is then shown choosing the blue marble.
The video proceeds to play the sound of an alarm, waking the character up. The character speaks and says they found their dream very weird. However, the character becomes startled after recognizing that no voice comes out as they speak, instead it's shown on their vision as code.
The idea was that the character now speaks programming language, which was probably given to them by the higher life form as a way of granting them limitless possibilities, such that programming gives the character this power.
Editing
For the magic marbles, I searched how to create energy balls on YouTube, which returned me several tutorials in After Effects. It consists of some noises inside a CC Sphere with some other effects such as saber and radial blur.
I then took a video of my hands as if it was holding the energy ball and added the marble, using my palm as the tracking point. I also took a video of myself snoozing the alarm. The last part was a drone shot taken from Pexels, followed by the SYNTAX logo animation I created on another project.
